About us
Tempèrie | Le forme del tempo
17-18 October 2026
At the origin of our personal time, when we are small, we are in a hurry to do everything: to learn to speak so as to tell others what we want, or to walk so as to get into mischief. We accumulate experiences, but always in a hurry, as if everything had to run.
At a certain point we realise that our vessel is full and that we need to free up some space, and we become aware of the different dimension that our personal time has taken on, but also the time of others.
It is like when you go on holiday. You get to know a place and some people, you leave them, you go back home, and when you find them again a year later, you wish that time had stood still waiting for you and that they had stayed the same. That is how, perhaps for the first time, you realise that there is also the time of others.
In the meantime the seasons have gone by and, when you notice that the days are passing ever faster, you would like to stop them, as certain images freeze what we think of as the season that accompanies us. I, for example, notice the change of season from the top of a tree that I see from the window at home and that changes colour, almost as if to warn me. When we begin to reflect and to tell our thoughts, we associate with the passing of time actions that define us as people. Time takes shape and changes, it does not stand still, and it expresses itself through colours, temperatures and lights.
This collection of mine wants to draw time, to capture its nuances and bend it to my way of seeing it, in modular objects that can be composed according to taste and need, and that sharpen the wits.
Tempèrie, which I chose as the title of my new collection of paper sculptures, is a little-used word that means at once climate, epoch and balance, and the choice comes from this journey.
Time, in this collection, flows with the seasons, to which I have given the names of some atmospheric phenomena: “Brina” for winter, “Rugiada” for spring, “Riverbero” for summer, “Bruma” for autumn. They are modular systems in which cutting, folding, colour and light transform a flat surface into three-dimensional architectures, in an ever-different dialogue between matter, space and perception.
A Pove del Grappa “Tempèrie”, le sculture di carta create da Elisabetta Casaburi
By Giulia Matteazzi | 13 October 2026
The new collection by the Venetian designer is presented in preview on 17 and 18 October at Con.Creta Ristorante, with an opening conversation and a guided tour.
Tempèrie by Elisabetta Casaburi brings to Pove del Grappa a path of paper sculptures devoted to the transformations of time and the seasons. The project, promoted by Fondo Plastico, will be hosted by Con.Creta Ristorante, at via Cornon 24, on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October.
The event is part of the cultural offer of the Bassano area, where exhibitions and meetings continue to interweave artistic research and places of the territory, as in the story dedicated to the excellences of the Pedemontana vicentina.
The collection includes four modular systems, Brina, Rugiada, Riverbero and Bruma. The folds, the light and the consistency of the paper build forms that change with the point of view. The material, fragile only in appearance, thus becomes the means to reflect on the passage from one season to the next and on the relationship between repetition and difference.
Tempèrie by Elisabetta Casaburi: between matter, light and seasons
On Saturday 17 October at 6 pm there is the opening conversation with the designer, led by Federica Preto. On Sunday 18 October, again at 6 pm, the programme offers a guided tour of the collection. An aperitif is planned on both days; participation is by reservation, with limited places, on 0424 1520763.
Casaburi works on modularity without reducing the works to geometric exercises. Each element is linked to the others and, at the same time, keeps its own visual tension. The names chosen recall atmospheric phenomena and conditions of light: the frost that lays down a texture, the dew that gathers reflections, the glare that multiplies perception and the mist that softens the outlines.
The initiative has the patronage of the Monte Grappa Biosphere Reserve MAB Unesco. The chosen venue also places the works in relation with an everyday, convivial space, encouraging direct contact with the public. Tempèrie by Elisabetta Casaburi thus becomes an accessible experience, in which the artistic project measures itself against matter, environment and the real time of the visit.
Elisabetta Casaburi – Incontri di materie | episodio 4
INCONTRI DI MATERIE presents Tempèrie | Le forme del tempo by Elisabetta Casaburi. The paper sculptures transform matter, light and colour into three-dimensional architectures. On 17 and 18 October, at Con.Creta Ristorante, two days of art, research and conviviality.
Pove del Grappa, October 2026 – Paper becomes architecture, giving life to volumes and geometries that tell of time through the seasons, light and colour. From this research comes Tempèrie | Le forme del tempo, the new collection of paper sculptures by Elisabetta Casaburi, presented in preview on 17 and 18 October during a new event of INCONTRI DI MATERIE | Dialoghi tra gusto, arte e saper fare contemporaneo, the format conceived to connect art, craftsmanship, design and the culture of taste, hosted at Con.Creta Ristorante in Pove del Grappa.
The title of the collection comes from an ancient word, tempèrie, which holds several meanings: the climate of a place, the character of an age and, in its original sense, the right mixture of the elements. A term that expresses the very nature of the project, in which paper becomes a material to explore and transform, giving shape to three-dimensional structures that evoke atmospheres and natural phenomena.
The career of Elisabetta Casaburi is rooted in her training at the Istituto d’Arte in Venice and in the experience of the Carterìa ai Frari, a shop-workshop opened in 2008 in the heart of the city, between the Scuola Grande di San Rocco and the Basilica dei Frari. Here paper is worked by hand, folded, printed and bound, through an experimentation that combines craft techniques, design research and contemporary sensibility.
Alongside her work, she took part in founding cArte, Venice’s Diffused Museum of Paper and Printing, born from the collaboration with other craft businesses to enhance the heritage of knowledge and skills linked to the culture of paper and printing.
It is from this wealth of experience that Tempèrie takes shape, a collection made up of four modular systems inspired by the atmospheric phenomena of the seasons: Brina, for winter; Rugiada, for spring; Riverbero, for summer; Bruma, for autumn.
Through cutting and folding, colour and light, the flat surface of the paper becomes a sculptural construction, capable of generating different forms and configurations. The works thus develop in a dynamic balance between geometry and sensitivity, in which perception changes in relation to space and light.
“I chose to work with modular systems because they allow me to explore the infinite possibilities of paper. Cutting, folding, colour and light transform a flat surface into three-dimensional architectures, in an ever-different dialogue between matter, space and perception”, says Elisabetta Casaburi.
The presentation of the collection is part of the curatorial research of INCONTRI DI MATERIE, a project conceived by Fondo Plastico in collaboration with Con.Creta Ristorante to create occasions for encounter between creative languages and different sensibilities. In this context, the artistic experience intertwines with that of taste, offering the public a moment of discovery and sharing in which matter becomes the starting point for new relationships.
The programme
- Saturday 17 October, 6.00 pm
The two days open with the inauguration and the Dialoghi con l’artista (Dialogues with the artist), led by Federica Preto, curator and founder of Fondo Plastico. A conversation devoted to Elisabetta Casaburi’s career, to her research on paper and to the genesis of the collection Tempèrie | Le forme del tempo. - Sunday 18 October, 6.00 pm
Elisabetta Casaburi guides the public on a tour of the works, telling of their forms, the techniques used to make them and their expressive possibilities.
On both days it is possible to take part in an aperitif prepared by Con.Creta Ristorante, in a convivial atmosphere that completes the experience between art, craftsmanship and the culture of taste.
The curatorial concept of INCONTRI DI MATERIE is realised by Fondo Plastico, in collaboration with Con.Creta Ristorante, with the patronage of MAB Biosfera Montegrappa.

Ecco quali sono i più interessanti musei d’impresa del Veneto
[...] cArte, Venice's Diffused Museum of Paper and Printing, is a thematic itinerary celebrating the city as the historic capital of paper and printing. Even before the end of the 15th century, Venice was home to between 150 and 200 printing presses, producing approximately 15% of Europe's printed titles, a percentage destined to grow to nearly half of continental production. The itinerary unfolds through five artistic craft workshops, each a true hub of the museum. Visitors can explore the workshops of Ca' Macana, Carterìa ai Frari, Fallani Venezia, Itaca Art Studio, and Venezia Stampa, learn about the techniques, machinery, and materials used, and purchase works and objects made on-site. Each workshop maintains its own identity and, together, creates an itinerary that reveals little-known corners of Venice and tells a story of tradition, innovation, and local craftsmanship. When Venice Lives: It Looks Like This – Carteria Ai Frari – 15 september 2021
interview with Elisabetta Casaburi, about Carterìa, crafts and Venice.
Elisabetta Casaburi, owner of Carterìa Ai Frari, is an artisan who upholds Venice’s longstanding tradition of making paper. After graduating from the Venice School of Art and attending literature courses at Ca’ Foscari, she worked as an advertising and editorial graphic artist. In 2008 Elisabetta decided to put in her shop everything she has loved and learned to do in the course of her life. She is a paper craftsman, and each of her productions, from the travel notebook to the photo album, “has the intention of collecting the past as a bridge to the future,” she says.

Soul Spritz Duo in Carterìa

“Elisabetta Casaburi has been handcrafting decorative paper products for twenty years and just opened this shop in the fall of 2008. She brings a fresh hit to the craft, with playful designs. I like her Moon Journals that are covered in neon pink, yellow, or turquoise paper that’s roughly textured, resembling craters.”
